THE CHALLENGE

Hair tools brand T3 Micro was celebrating their 20th anniversary with a re-brand and launch of the Aire IQ - the first-ever intelligent hair dryer that adapts to hair types and styling preferences. Though the brand was well-established in the space and a pioneer in the luxury hair tool category, they were facing greater and greater competition from newer brands who were entering the market and taking away market share leveraging a more social-first approach. In order to drive sales for a brand new product across DTC, Sephora, and Ulta, they needed to garner wider reach on social with their target consumer and find ways to make the dryer memorable.

THE SOLUTION

OGAKI developed a cheeky campaign for the product launch called “What’s Your Type?,” positioning the Aire IQ as “just your type” - a play on the dryer’s ability to customize your blow-dry experience to your hair type. This storyline played into all facets of the marketing efforts - from the campaign shoot, with the models and founders speaking to both their hair types and dating types - to the influencer partnerships, with influencers comparing the dryer to their boyfriends and couples using the dryer together. OGAKI led the creative direction and production of the campaign, putting together a campaign shoot, and brought the campaign to life through influencer and content creator partnerships, influencer seedings, social media strategy, social-first content creation, and paid social support. Additionally, we created retail-specific strategies, creating in-store ad content and partnering with Sephora Squad members to further support the launch.

THE RESULTS

The campaign drove Aire IQ to become a must-have product on social and an instant best-seller for the brand. The product went viral on TikTok - with posts garnering over 2M views - and garnered 22M impressions just from organic influencer seeding in only 3 months.
